Prince of persia trilogy series#
The level design of the series has always been applause and the platforming sections never too easy or too frustrating. Brighter colors, sharper images and special effects (such as particle ones) much more visible than the original games … as a business card it’s not bad, what do you think? due to pixels as large as a margherita pizza. The mix of exploration, platforming and fighting makes all three adventures enjoyable to play from start to finish and the facelift operated by the development team in the graphics sector allows those who own a high definition television not to lose a handful of diopters. It is no coincidence, in fact, that Ubisoft has decided to use them again recently after having “forgotten” them in the penultimate chapter, right? Whether it’s saving his kingdom or escaping an evil Luciferian entity, the power to rewind time always plays a major role and characterizes the prince’s exploits in the best possible way. The leitmotif of the entire trilogy is always the infamous magical sands, on which 80% of the game is based. Warrior Spirit and The Two Thrones, despite not having a pace of play and a design comparable to that of the progenitor, have had the merit of introducing totally new gameplay mechanics, which have still managed to keep the series “fresh”. Playing the three chapters of the trilogy you will realize how much the combat system has evolved over time. However, this does not mean that the other two chapters included in this compilation are to be thrown away, quite the contrary. The Sands of Time (to which the cinematic tie-in with Jake Gyllenhall was also dedicated) is undoubtedly the best of the three and is also the game that in its time had the merit of reviving the series after the bad experience lived with the Dreamcast chapter. There is no doubt that they are old, they carry their years on their shoulders, but still today they are without a doubt among the best action games ever created. I know what many of you are thinking: “but do you think that with everything that has come out in this period and that is coming in the next few weeks, I’m going to buy some old games?”. If you missed them when they came out on PlayStation 2, this is a great chance to make up for it.
Prince of persia trilogy ps3#
In the meantime, however, let’s stop for a moment in Persia, where the relative Prince has decided to take a step back in time using his famous sands to let the PS3 people know his first three adventures, dating back to the previous Sony console. A few months ago, Sly Raccoon also made his debut in high definition and soon Tomb Raider, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and others will also have similar treatment. A simple idea, crowned with great success, which started a flood of similar announcements. God of War recently delighted its fans with a stunning HD remake of the first two chapters of the saga.
